Influenza Vaccine Target Groups Added

The County of Santa Clara has authorized Stanford Medical Group to add the following groups to the previous high risk categories of persons able to receive the influenza vaccine during 2004-5:

• Adults aged 50 or older
  
• Household contacts and caregivers of persons at high-risk for influenza complications
  
• All emergency services personnel and healthcare workers.
  

Please contact your physician at SMG to schedule your influenza vaccine if you meet the above recommendations or have any questions regarding the 2004-5 influenza vaccine.

Holiday and Winter Holiday Schedule Announced

Stanford Medical Group will be closed on the following days to celebrate the winter holidays:

• Christmas Eve - Friday, December 24, 2004
  
• New Years' Eve - Friday, December 31, 2004
  
• Martin Luther King Day - Monday, January 17, 2005
  
• President's Day - Monday, February 21, 2005
  

The Stanford Hospital Emergency Room and Urgent Care Center wil be open 24/7 during these holiday periods if emergent medical needs should arise. Please mark your calendars and have a great holiday!
